White House Hypocrisy…again!
“No you!”
The familiar White House, elementary-school-yard-style rebuttal rings hollow and is pathetically hypocritical. It’s not the first time, during a crisis or pivotal event, that Obama seeks refuge on the golf course. Nothing matters to him enough to tend to more important things. Golf is clearly a priority for the President in times of crisis. It shows him as the classless boor that he is.
But then White House spokesman Bill Burton and Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel have the balls (that’s close to “ass”, and “ass” has been officially approved by the President of the United States as a word to use frequently, whenever you possibly can) to criticize BP CEO Tony Hayward for attending a yacht race.
“You know, look, if Tony Hayward wants to put a skimmer on that yacht and bring it down to the Gulf, we’d be happy to have his help,” Burton said to laughter in the White House briefing room. It’s a joke to them. This is serious business, Bill. But Bill offers this defense: “I don’t think that there’s a person in this country that doesn’t think that their president ought to have a little time to clear his mind.”
If you believe that, Bill, then you and Obama are equally out of touch with the American people. The American people want to know that while oil is spilling into the Gulf, while jobs are being lost, while lives are being ruined, while the administration is spending us into oblivion, that the President is doing something a little more constructive than PLAYING GOLF!! Why is that so difficult for you to understand?!? Truly mind-boggling you folks! This country is paying attention, mark my words, they will not forget.
Rahm Emanuel called the BP chief executive’s decision to go to the yacht race “part of a long line of PR gaffes and mistakes.” The EXACT same thing can be said for your boss, Rahm! Perhaps YOU should tell him. He’s a disgrace.
If Michelle were on her death bed, Barry would still be out playing golf…”a little time to clear his mind” you understand!
