No More Public Servants!
This is not a left vs. right issue. This is an American issue. Sure, we disagree on many things. It wouldn’t be any fun if we all agreed on everything.
But there are a few things WE CAN ALL AGREE on: Remove all liars from office! Let’s make truth, honor, integrity, responsibility and accountability the hallmarks of public service! Let’s get some REAL public servants!
People like Connecticut Attorney General Richard Blumenthal simply make me sick to my stomach. He is the ATTORNEY GENERAL. He is supposed to be an example of truth, justice and integrity! But here are his words we are forced to choke on:
“I have made mistakes and I am sorry. I truly regret offending anyone.”
Hey Rick, you didn’t offend anyone, you lied! You LIED! These were not misstatements, misrepresentations, omissions of truth, or mistakes…THEY WERE LIES! You tried to elevate your credibility by telling us lies. It is a childish tactic, the kind I hear about from my daughter’s second grade classmates. You should resign in shame over such behavior. You claim to champion veterans but you simply dishonor them.
These are the kinds of signs all voters need to pay attention to. Sure, we all make mistakes at some point. Perhaps we’ve even done a few things were not too proud of, ashamed of even. Nobody is perfect. However, when you have been given the public trust in such an important position of power, DO NOT play us for fools!
Just like when we were kids, and now when we raise our own children, there have to be consequences for our actions. If there are no consequences we will NEVER learn our lessons and, in essence, are given permission to do it again. These guys make a quick, half-hearted apology speech and expect everything to simply be forgiven and forgotten. Try that in court before a judge!
Where are the “real people” in public service? Where are the public servants? Let this be a sign at the ballot box. Let’s clean house and sweep out the trash!
